It converts the digital signal to analog, which the Samsung Series 3 cannot do with a regular HDMI to VGA cable.
Use a HDMI to VGA converter, wouldn’t you lose the ability to stream audio along with the video I am into learning and challenging my ideas. I agree 100% that I should not have expected better from such a cheap cable. This is why I am telling those who may not know not to bother buying one.
ea VGA is crap analog. HDMI or DVI. The picture quality is the same on HDMI and DVI you can also convert between the two. Minus the audio lately I am discovering you can put other stuff on HDMI like networking and also HDMI can control TV's for example. Like turn it on and off and switch the device to the right input.
Glad it worked for you. I use mine for my Chromebook, Raspberry Pi, Samsung Tab 2 and my Samsung Note 3
about everything under the sun, however when we deploy these chromebooks to our network teams across campus not sure what projectors they'll be using along with the inputs. We figured if we had the VGA and HDMI covered that we should be good to go!
